The official website of Japan-Arab States Network (ARABU) has been launched on December, 2023. The address of the website is www.arabu.jp

ARABU will be the hub to facilitate the communication of the related entities in its field of interest. 

ARABU will regularly share the related news in consideration of non-intereference in internal political affairs of the countries and mutual respect for the national identities of all nations.

The 5th Japan-Arab Economic Forum

On July 10-11, 2024, the 5th Japan-Arab Economic Forum was co-hosted by Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), and the League of Arab States in Tokyo. Notable attendees included Japan’s Foreign Minister KAMIKAWA Yoko, State Minister TSUJI Kiyoto, Economy Minister SAITO Ken, and State Minister KOZUKI Ryosuke, along with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and various economic ministers from Arab countries.

On April 23rd, commencing at 4:30 p.m., for approximately 25 minutes, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan held a telephone talk with H.E. Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

14th Meeting of Japan-Qatar Working Group 
Japan and the Arab States

On July 29, the 14th Meeting of the Improvement of Business Environment and Investment Working Group between Japan and Qatar was held online. Attendees included Mr. FUNATSU Ryuichi, Director of the Second Middle East Division, officials from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Mr. Saleh Abdullah Al-Mana, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation and Trade Agreements.

Special Envoy of Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio to extend condolences for the passing of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. On December 18th, he conveyed condolences to Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of Japan-Kuwait relations.

MEETING
 

On July 12, 2024, at 9:45 a.m., State Minister for Foreign Affairs TSUJI Kiyoto met with H.E. Dr. GIBRIL Ibrahim Mohamed, Sudan's Minister of Finance and Economic Planning. The meeting lasted approximately 40 minutes.

Ambassador H.E. Mr. Futoshi MATSUMOTO, the Ambassador of Japan to Iraq, along with Ninawa Governor Mr. Abdulqader Al-Dakhil and representatives from Japanese companies like Toyota Iraq, Sumitomo Corporation, Nippon Paint, and TOTO, as well as the Peace Winds of Japan NGO, participated in a roundtable discussion.

Since 1979, The UAE has been participating in the Sumo tournament by gifting the winner a huge coffee pot. The usage of the coffee pot is an indication of hospitality in the UAE, where guests are always welcomed by a fresh cup of coffee.
